2014 to 2016 – Quite a Roller Coaster Ride

September 19, 2016

Here it is September of 2016, cannot believe it has been several months since my last blog post. Well, quite honestly, yes I can believe that!

Actually, for most of the past two and a half years, I’ve been on this wild and crazy ride. You may recall, I retired from my day job of almost 37 years at the end of August 2013.  I started my little photography business ( and enjoyed life as a retiree…..for a few months. Then my mom started having health problems in January 2014.  I had been acting as her health advocate since early 2008 when she beat colon cancer, but a May 2014 near death experience with e-coli sepsis, an August 2014 lung cancer diagnosis, subsequent life threatening complications from treatment, weeks in rehab, I became her caregiver.

Combine that with acting as my dad’s health advocate, my photography business, along with blogging, was “put on the back burner”. Sure, I would escape now and then, snap a few share/sell worthy photos, all the while giving care to my elderly parents.

Fast forward to September 2016, mom passed away August 13th, and while dad’s health has been failing, he is somewhat stable. I often find myself a little lost and have begun refocusing on my photography, once again.

Hopefully, you will continue riding along with me as I navigate my way through the grieving process and rejuvenate my creative juices.

Here are a couple of very special cell phone photos from the past couple of months.

Oh, and  I also got a part-time office job, but I’ll save that story for another time. Ta Ta !
