Photo-of-the-Day / 2012-04-22 / The Bridal Portrait

April 22, 2012

Today, the second and final day of the wedding photography workhsop I attended at Midwest Photography Schools, morning class time focused on business techniques, but in the afternoon we got to “play” in the studio.

I can honestly say I never thought I would ever be interested in doing studio photography, that I would market myself as an “on-location, natural light” photographer using fill flash when needed.  However, after this afternoon’s experience shooting with well balanced studio lights, I can actually see myself adding this type of photography to my repertoire!  We shall see.

The above photo is the result of today’s studio work.  It was very interesting to watch how this was set up, and it was really fun to having the opportunity to capture this image.  We all thought it was really different.  What do you think?

If you would like to see a few more photos from today’s studio shoot, check out my Photo Galleries page, A Model “Bride”.

I also have attended classes at MPW. I am looking forward to the sports photography class I signed up for, it starts in July.
It is a very interesting image, it looks like she has wings.

    • I’m pretty sure I will be taking more classes at MWP. I feel lucky to have such a top notch photography school nearby. Our instructor was the director himself, and he intentionally set the scene for this shot so that it would look like the bride had wings.
